Achievements
Outside of my 15 years working in a school as both a speech pathologist and primary teacher, I've also taken on speech pathology roles in the wider community to keep growing as a clinician.

Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Judge
Since 2021, I have been selected as a judge for Speech Pathology Australia's Book of the Year Awards in the Decodable Book Series Category. This role reflects my passion for evidence-based literacy, phonological awareness and supporting children to become confident readers.

Children's Book Author
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I wrote a children's book, 'The light was always there', to offer children hope, comfort and reassurance during an uncertain time. Created as part of an online learning project, the book also gave my students the opportunity to contribute creatively and feel connected while learning from home.

French Translation of an AAC App
In 2019, I translated the AAC app 'Bridge Communication' into French, helping make this communication tool accessible to a broader community of French-speaking children and adults with communication difficulties. This project reflected my commitment to improving access to inclusive, evidence-based communication supports across languages and cultures.

Speech Pathology Australia Podcast
In 2022, fellow speech pathologist Marina Hennes and I were invited to be interviewed on the Speech Pathology Australia podcast to share our experience of establishing and growing a thriving Community of Practice for local school Speech Pathologists. We discussed the value of professional collaboration, knowledge sharing and building strong networks to support best practice in school-based speech pathology.

In 2023, I was interviewed on the Speech Pathology Australia podcast about my experience as a dual-qualified Speech Pathologist and Primary Teacher. I shared how my understanding of communication, language, and literacy strengthens my teaching, while my classroom experience helps me deliver practical, curriculum-focused speech pathology support. Each profession continues to make me stronger in the other.

Volunteer for Heads Together for ABI
Since 2015, I have proudly volunteered with Heads Together for ABI, a charity supporting children and families impacted by acquired brain injury. Through four camps each year, the organisation provides opportunities for connection, confidence, participation and fun in a supportive community.
